ADMISSION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

The following requirements must be met by prospective candidates of the various study programmes.

CANDIDATES FOR THE ORDINARY DIPLOMA IN THEOLOGY PROGRAMMES

  1. 5 Credits (including English) on West African School Certificate (WASC) Exam or its equivalent

CANDIDATES FOR THE HIGHER DIPLOMA IN THEOLOGY PROGRAMMES

  1. An Ordinary diploma in Theology
  2. 5 Credits (Including English and Christian Religious Knowledge) on the WAEC exam or its equivalent
  3. Additional academic credentials will be advantageous

CANDIDATES FOR THE DIPLOMA IN RELIGIOUS STUDY IN AFFILIATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF UYO

  1. An Ordinary Diploma in Theology
  2. 5 Credits (including English and Christian Religious Knowledge) on the WAEC Exam
  3. Additional Academic credentials will be advantageous

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

All applicants must complete the following:

  1. Complete Application Form: Application forms should be requested from and returned to the Rector’s office. Form may also be available at the examination center.
  2. Submit Application Fees: The Application fee for the Pastoral course is Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00). The Application Fee for the Evangelist course is also Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00). This fee must be submitted with the Application Form before the time of the examination. These fees are subject to change. an acceptance fee of Five thousand Naira (N,500.00) will be collected from the Students in acceptance of Admission.
  3. Pass Entrance Examinations: All applicants are required to take JEMLS entrance examinations. Applicants must pass the following entrance exams.
  • Bible/General Knowledge
  • English
  1. Pass Entrance Interview: At the interview, each candidate will present the following documents:
    • Original copies of all academic certificates
    • Birth Certificate or an official age declaration
    • a recent medical examination report signed by a recognized doctor
    • Certificate of Baptism
    • Confirmation certificate
    • Marriage Certificate (If married)
    • Letter of sponsorship (this letter must be signed by a sponsor that promises adequate support)
    • Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s
  • Home Congregation
  • Present Station (as the case may be)
  • The Evangelist will submit a letter from his home District Superintendent

Pastoral Course Candidates must submit a letter from the Superintendent of the District he is serving)

  • Other letters of recommendation will be acknowledged.
